Johnstown Veterinary Associates is seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and compassionate associate veterinarian

Johnstown Veterinary Associates is seeking an enthusiastic, friendly and compassionate associate veterinarian to join our 5-doctor small animal practice with responsibilities in one or both of our locations, Johnstown Veterinary Associates Main Campus in Johnstown, PA and Johnstown Veterinary Associates North Campus in Ebensburg, PA. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in different environments while providing high-quality care to our beloved patients. Since 1920, Johnstown Veterinary Associates has been privately owned and has been a member of the American Animal Hospital Association since 1958.

With the continued national shortage of veterinarians, you may wonder why being an associate veterinarian at Johnstown Veterinary Associates is the place for you. Here is a very short list of what we have to offer our veterinarians:

  1. Exceptional mentorship—what we know, we share
  2. No after-hour emergencies—when you leave for the night, you do not have to come back
  3. Knowledgeable, hands-on, smart and friendly support staff who function in a positive and collaborative
    environment
  4. In-house certified veterinary practice manager who acts as the liaison between veterinarians, clients, and clinic
staff—basically responsible for non-veterinary things that veterinarians do not want to do
  5. Paperless practice management software—practice utilizes ezyVet, a cloud-based system
  6. A complete in-house IDEXX Laboratory that offers results to clients during their pet’s visit
  7. In-house pharmacy—very rarely are scripts filled outside of pharmacy
  8. Surgical suite that offers laser surgery, oxygen ICU unit, LigaSure, EKG, endoscope
  9. Digital radiographs, dental radiographs with panoramic views, ultrasound, laser therapy
  10. Very competitive salary (with pro-Sal option) and benefits package that includes all the basics that ay veterinarian deserves such as paid vacation, professional liability insurance, medical insurance, dental and vision insurance, paid CE, 401K retirement with profit sharing, paid membership dues, uniform allowance, pet discount, and catered lunches at least twice per week.

What we require of our veterinarians is not that complicated. We trust that any veterinarian that graduated from an accredited institution knows what to do and loves what they do. But if we had a short wish list of what we are searching for in an individual, the following would be included:

  1. Caring, energetic, and offers client-oriented and patient-centered care
  2. Excellent communication both oral and written—maintains accurate and detailed medical records
  3. Profound sense of humor
  4. Possess a general understanding of emotional intelligence or EQ
  5. Follows hospital protocols as directed
  6. Focuses on preventative medicine and client education
  7. Is honest, dependable and transparent
  8. Able to collaborate with people of diverse backgrounds and education levels
  9. Maintains a professional, nonsense attitude when it comes to completing tasks
  10. Promotes a drama-free work zone

If you think Johnstown Veterinary Associates is the place for you, please send your wonderful correspondence to Heidi Rizkalla, Practice Manager at jva@atlanticbbn.net. New graduates are encouraged to apply
