Barnes Lake Veterinary Center (BLVC) is a beautiful modern small animal practice that opened in September of 2022, and is located just 30 minutes from Pittsburgh, PA. BLVC is privately owned and is looking for an associate veterinarian that is eager to join a practice that cares about its team and promotes a work-life balance.
We provide a full range of services for our feline and canine patients and are open to adding more services. Currently, our warm and inviting facility includes a large waiting room/ reception area with a recessed dog scale, 4 comfortable exams rooms (3 with wall mounted folding tables, 1 room with a lift table, and 1 lift table in the treatment area), 1 large surgical suite, 1 dental suite with digital dental radiology, and a full digital radiology suite off of the open floor plan treatment area. In our lab area we have the newest in-house analyzers from IDEXX. We also have a handheld ultrasound unit, an in-house pharmacy, and online pharmacy. We are a paper-light facility and use EzyVet veterinary software.

Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM or VMD)
- Licensed veterinarian in the State of Pennsylvania, and in good standings with the medical board
- Ethical, pleasant, responsive, and willing to collaborate with the team
- Good communicator and patient with animals and people
- Ability to work through and solve problems
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to explain medical terms and conditions using simple language
- At least 1 year of post graduate work experience as a licensed veterinarian preferred, but not required
Responsibilities:
· Thorough physical examinations of healthy, sick, and injured pets
· Developing and implementing treatment plans including but not limiting to, prescribing medications, administering vaccinations
· Recommending and interpreting diagnostics including but not limiting to lab work and x-rays
· Recommending and performing dental and surgical procedures (not required)
· Maintaining professional and accurate medical records on all patients
· Collaborating with team members to provide comprehensive care
· Educating clients on proper animal care, nutrition, disease prevention, and more
