Mixed Animal Associate Veterinarian

Five Points Veterinary Services is a privately owned 3 doctor mixed animal practice in rural western Pennsylvania looking for a full or part time associate veterinarian. The practice consists of 2 small animal hospitals, one 7000 sq. ft. built in 2019 and the other 5500 sq. ft. recently renovated and opened in fall 2022, located 25 miles apart along with a large animal ambulatory portion. Caseload would be approximately 70-30 small to large animal depending on the time of year. Both hospitals are equipped with full in-house lab, digital radiology, ultrasound, surgical suites, fully computerized medical records, and a fully stocked pharmacy. A well-trained staff is in place at both locations. The large animal portion of the practice consists of equine, dairy and beef cattle, and small ruminants.

Keeping work/life balance of the staff in mind, the practice sees no afterhours or weekend small animal emergencies. No large animal emergencies are seen overnight and are offered with limited hours on the weekends. The associate would see small animal office hours one Saturday a month and rotate large animal weekend duties with the other mixed animal veterinarians.

A well-qualified, experienced associate would receive a base salary paid biweekly with all or part being production or commission based. Depending on the associate and if commission is selected, salary could vary widely because of the high patient load. Other benefits include 100% paid health, vision, and dental insurance for the associate, paid vacation, CE allowance, veterinary license and malpractice insurance paid, professional dues paid as well as a sign-on bonus and a relocation allowance if needed. A mixed animal veterinarian would also have a practice vehicle to use for farm calls and to get to and from home and the 2 clinics with all vehicle fees and fuel paid.

If you are looking to lay down roots in a beautiful area of Pennsylvania with the best of both rural living and close proximity to the culture and experience of Pittsburgh as well as a challenging and stimulating practice environment where one’s clinical and surgical skills can grow and prosper, we may be the right choice.
